This short film was inspired by the events of 2015 that took place in Syria, and that still continue even today.

Grills had been travelling throughout Europe, in this time he had many encounters with people who were seeking asylum. In particular while staying on the Greek island of Lesbos. There he witnessed up to 12,000 displaced people arrive to the island in just two days.

While staying in Germany, his perspective of their experience was transformed into murals.

Using excerpts of an SBS interview with him and his fellow travellers I was able to create a story alongside the imagery that Alex so uniquely paints.
